In response to the planned
closure of the Wylfa power station in 2010 and its potential
implications for other businesses and the wider area, the Welsh
Assembly Government has established a new long-term economic
development programme for the area.
The programme, called Môn a Menai (M²), will be
developed and delivered in partnership with Ynys Môn and Gwynedd
Councils, and will engage the further and higher education,
private, voluntary and public sector organisations across the
area.
The following themes will underpin the
strategy:
- developing a dynamic economy with a diverse
and growing range of innovative companies
- providing a diverse and flexible
workforce
- a strong tourism offer
- attractive town centres and public
spaces.
