Free Booklet to Help Businesses Exploit Intellectual Property

The UK Intellectual Property Office ( UK-IPO ) has launched a new booklet aiming to help small businesses exploit their intellectual property.

'How Licensing Intellectual Property Can Help Your Business' provides a range of information on IP licensing, including advice on how to approach a productive IP licensing deal.

The UK-IPO says that licensing IP is important to all types of businesses, e.g. it can be appropriate to:

-  inventors of a product
-  manufacturers and designers who configure or refine a product's appearance
-  producers of packaging, marketing literature and materials

Businesses can gain benefits by allowing others to use their IP , and also access IP used by other businesses in order to develop new products.
