London 2012 Business Network

The London 2012 Business Network has been launched, providing businesses cross the UK - particularly small & medium sized enterprises (SMEs) - with an opportunity to engage with potential partners, and to compete for London 2012 Games-related work.

The network includes 3 core elements:

-  online access to information about London 2012 procurement and sub-contracting activity

-  details of a national programme of business events run by London 2012

-  the chosen website for the publication of Games-related opportunities.

COMPETEFOR WEBSITE

The website, CompeteFor, is the chosen website of London 2012 and acts as a brokerage service between buyers and potential suppliers throughout the London 2012 supply chain. It is expected that up to a fifth of London 2012 supply chain opportunities will run through the CompeteFor system.

CONTRACTS

Already 500 contracts worth over £1 billion have been awarded, with 98% going to British companies, and nearly half won by mostly SMEs based outside London - which the organisers say shows how the Games can benefit businesses throughout the UK.
