Skillset Cymru Training Framework for Audio Visual Industries
The Skillset Cymru Training Framework for the Audio Visual
Industries has been launched, which is now open to all Wales-based
freelancers and companies.
Skillset is the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual
Industries (broadcast, film, video, interactive media and photo
imaging). Jointly funded by the industry and government, it aims to
make sure all UK audio visual industries have the right people,
with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time - so
the industries remain competitive.
The scheme aims to support production companies and freelancers
to enhance their skills in the challenging and constantly evolving
audio visual industries, and has been developed in partnership with
S4C and the Welsh Assembly Government.
For production companies - a
free training needs assessment from a Human Resource
Development (HRD) advisor is on offer,
which aims to identify their staff's training and development
needs. There will also be a chance to apply for
the funding of recommended courses.
For freelancers - individuals can apply to the
Training Framework for bursaries to attend training courses. They
can also apply for free training advice and guidance from a
specialist sector training adviser, who will help assess training
needs and direct to sources of financial support for training.
For further information on the Training Framework and to
download an application form, please visit: www.skillset.org/trainingframework
