Welsh food has a long-established
reputation for distinctiveness and quality, making it popular with
consumers across the world. Wales prides itself on supplying
some of the finest produce in the world. Its very landscape
reflects freshness, quality and variety. From unique cheeses and
wines, famous Welsh beef and lamb - to fresh fish and seafood -
Wales has it all.
Food has an important role to play in the
Welsh economy, accounting for the equivalent of 55,000 full time
jobs in production and processing alone.
The Welsh Assembly Government works with
partners throughout the industry to build on this strength and to
add value to Welsh food at every point in the supply chain through
a range of support including:
- specialist advice;
- joint marketing and networking activities; and
- financial assistance to eligible projects.
All support is discretionary and subject to
eligibility criteria.
